Position Summary
The multi-craft journeyman will perform a variety of functions in this role. Most of the time (approximately 50%) will be working with process piping mostly with exposed piping and very little underground. This work includes PVC, ductile iron, steel and stainless-steel pipe. About 20% of the time will perform carpentry functions, 10-15 % basic labor work and the balance will be concrete and mechanical equipment installation. An added plus will be working knowledge and experience running heavy equipment including such pieces as skid steer, loader and forklift.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Performs a variety of routine to skilled work to inspect, install, maintain, and repair storm water distribution pipelines and related appurtenances.
- Inspects, cleans, and tests lines in the distribution system.
- Assists in planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and assigning wastewater collection maintenance and repair work and assignment in consultation with the Supervisor.
- Communicates status of assignments to appropriate personnel, working cooperatively to schedule assignments in accordance with established priorities and special operational priorities.
- Makes repairs as necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance adjustments.
- Provides installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater mains and laterals.
- Performs asphalt and concrete repair and patchwork.
- Removes trees, brush, and debris to access sewer main lines and laterals.
- Inspects and maintains wastewater lines.
- Assists in maintaining pump lift stations, pumps, and storm drains.
Qualifications
- May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
Requirements
- The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
- May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site

- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check
