Senior Professional with a strong Knowledge of Quality Engineering and broad knowledge of project management. Develop, establish and maintain quality assurance program plans, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to established customer and company requirements. Be proactive, focus on continual improvement, and drive corrective action analysis and implementation internally and at suppliers. The following are typical responsibilities.
- Perform project contract reviews and prepare / implement associated quality plans
- Interface with L3 Harris Program Office, engineering and operations to ensure all quality requirements are met in an effective manner
- Prepare proposal inputs and estimates.
- Interface with customers/ suppliers to resolve concerns/issues as appropriate
- Interface with the supplier quality organization to ensure proper flowdown of contractual requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers to focus on continual improvement and resolve quality issues on site.
- Represent Product Assurance at Configuration Change , Material Review, and Failure Review Boards
- Perform internal and external audits /surveys/ evaluation against project requirements.
- Leads internal AS9100 audit program and focal point for external audits.
Qualifications:
Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have in-depth knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree preferred and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- US Citizenship required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of contract review pertaining to Customer Quality Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management system and J-STD-001
- Extensive experience in performance auditing and corrective action systems
- Extensive experience in working within a ISO 9000 / AS9100 quality system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in utilization of Microsoft Office products in the generation of documentation and reports
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Experience with 8D root cause and corrective action
- Experience in Military, DoD or Aerospace electronics equipment design, fabrication and test
- American Society for Quality Certified Quality Manager, Engineer or Auditor
- J-STD Workmanship certification preferred
- Understanding of engineering drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, and gauging
- Knowledge of Property Management requirements
- Active Security Clearance Highly Desired. Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance
