Job Summary
The Assistant Parts Manager will be responsible for assisting the Parts Manager in managing all aspects of the parts department including customer service, inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and reviewing special orders. The ideal candidate approaches their work with enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a variety of incoming customer inquiries, including phone calls and emails, and respond in a timely, professional manner
  • Assist with loading orders into the proper systems.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Assist with tracking inventory.
  • Ensures all defective parts from warranty repairs are properly tagged and controlled so dealership receives full credit from the manufacturer. 
  • Analyzes sales, cost of goods sold, departmental expenses, and inventory to maintain departmental profit goals.
  • Monitor and adjust parts pricing to maintain profits and competitiveness
  • Manage various department merchandising activities.
  • Review special orders and offer order processing and relevant advice

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in a customer service/parts administrative role.
  • 3 years automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Strong computer aptitude, specifically with dealership management systems, manufacturer computer systems, and excel are required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must utilize effective time management skills and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at one time.
  • Must have the ability to establish productive and cooperative relationships with all retail customers and dealership employees.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative.
  • Must possess the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Travel for meetings and training will be required at times.
