Position: Human Resource Associate
Reports to: Director, Human Resources
Location: Remote; Must Reside In New York State
Pay Grade: $22.00 - $25.00 Based on Experience Non-exempt, Hourly
What you will do:
Medical Answering Service (MAS) Connects Medicaid enrollees to health care through non-emergency transportation because we believe healthier communities exist when its members have seamless access to healthcare. You are the main point of contact providing support through effective employee relations, excellent customer service, and responding timely to and solve employee-related requests and problems.
Success Will Look Like:
You will work collaboratively with the Human Resources team members to providing a cohesive support for all areas related to the employee experience. Working collaboratively with Human Resources team members to ensure efficient processes, effective and clear communication, and well documented best practice procedures providing transparent instruction to policies, ensuring employees receive clear communication to company policy and procedures relating to leave of absence, time and attendance, MAS sponsored benefits,
Department Relationships:
You will partner with your HR colleagues and business leaders to determine best practices, exciting new programs to implement, and ways to improve the employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to areas of Human Resources Department including informational guidance in; HR Payroll related processing, onboarding and new employee orientation, benefit enrollment and data entry as required.
- Provide accurate and timely responses to employee inquiries in the areas of benefit, payroll and time & attendance, and other related human resources inquiries.
- Entry in ADP for terminations, call outs, late arrivals, early leave, missed punches, extended lunches, daily / weekly / monthly reports including employee attendance issues and cross reference to 5/9 Platform, correcting time and attendance punches.
- Assist new hires to access ADP for email, password set-up and maintain data control.
- Effectively communicate with all departments provide excellent customer service and clear communication to department leaders and employees.
- Provide reports to call center for time & attendance for employees on unscheduled time.
- Update ADP Employee Portal as needed for new hires, benefit offerings and all HR related updates to maintain compliance.
- Maintain and proactively update personnel files for past, current, and future MAS employees in accordance with federal and state guidelines, utilizing current, electronic HRIS system.
- Approved LOA data entry into ADP for time and attendance to reflect the real time absence for employees.
- Back-up to HR team members to support employee inquiries, new hire orientations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Resident of New York State required.
- Experience at MAS preferred.
- 1 or more years in a Human Resources related role strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of labor and employment regulations.
- Experience with company provided benefit program plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works effectively and efficiently with changing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Superb organizational and task management skills, and attention to detail.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor Degree in HR or related field required
Travel Requirements:
- May be required, at times, to attend meetings in-person with MAS colleagues primarily in the Syracuse area.
Physical Requirements (to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
