We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for a scientist position focused on optimizing and executing experiments related to verifying the specificity of novel gene editing systems as an integral member of the Genome Editing team. About the Role
- Lead and perform experiments to test new genome editing technologies in immortalized and clinically relevant mammalian cell lines in a high throughput manner
- Perform in vitro molecular biology to assess specificity of enzymes
- Analyze complex data sets and recommend next steps
- Gather and analyze experimental data
- Present at external scientific meetings
- Prepare accurate and timely data summaries, contribute to writing of reports and present findings to key stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
About You
What will enable you to thrive as our new Research Associate will be:
- D. in biology or a related discipline with relevant research experience
- Experience with genome-editing technology
- Experience with chromosomal rearrangements and translocation analysis
- Excellent organizational skills and both oral and written communication skills
- Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge
- Ability to think strategically, manage time and workflow, and work independently as well as in a results-oriented research team
Preferred additional qualifications:
- Hands on experience with gene editing technologies in mammalian cells
- Experience with next generation sequencing technologies
- Experience working in a cross collaborative team including bioinformaticians and project managers
