JOB STATEMENT
This job requires a person to demonstrate superior mechanical aptitude to be able to perform mechanical repairs, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to work in a safe and conscientious manner. Knowledge of Hydraulics, Industrial Electricity, and blueprint reading required.
JOB DUTIES
1. Comply with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government (for example, rules applying to: LOTO, Hot Work Permits, Fork truck, Personal lifts, Ladders etc.)
2. Demonstrate responsibility for tools and equipment used to maintain the facility and its equipment.
3. Demonstrate the ability to learn from instruction and/or experience and accept constructive criticism.
4. Abide by Lean 6 / 6S principles including cleaning up tools and area when a job is completed.
5. Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Examples of required documentation include, but are not limited to: Daily Work Sheets, Preventative Maintenance Cards, Mold Change Work Orders, Labor Tickets, Work Orders and Tool Room Withdrawal procedure.
6. Safely install and set up molding tools and other production related equipment.
7. Perform work assignments (written or verbal), and Preventive Maintenance tasks in all departments and areas of the facility as scheduled.
8. Interact and work effectively as part of a team or autonomously to complete work orders and provide maintenance support.
9. Demonstrated ability to follow directions from a supervisor or team leader
10. Demonstrated able to start up and shutdown facility
11. Have a working knowledge of the fire house pump and be able to start and run the emergency diesel generator
12. Preform Preventative Maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
13. Develop a strong understanding of press hydraulics and be proficient at interpreting a hydraulic schematic drawing.
14. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot plant equipment.
15. Perform all other duties as directed.
JOB SPECIFICATION
2. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment.
3. Must pass and maintain fork truck certification test.
4. Must have Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash training and comply with procedures.
5. Must demonstrate mechanical ability.
6. Must have a willingness and ability to work overtime and during Christmas and July shutdown periods and to rotate to other shifts as needed.
7. Must be willing to work in all areas of the facility, including pits, boiler room, pump room, diesel house, etc.)
8. Demonstrate the ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities with minimal direct supervision.
10. Must maintain an outstanding attendance record.
11. Acquire additional knowledge in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the hydraulic and steam systems.
12. Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance
13. Must be able to lift, move or carry 50 lbs.
14. Develop knowledge of and be an active participant in the plant Emergency Protocols
