The Headlines:
In the role of Category Manager- Sales & Marketing Services, working in Milwaukee, WI, you will be a team lead in the North America Commercial Procurement team, which supports Marketing & Sales. You will be responsible for leading a team of three, developing and executing category strategies, and supporting the Molson Coors commercial organization. Categories in scope for you and your team include regional sponsorships & events, consumer incentives, sampling, eCommerce, data, and insights.
This position reports to the Director, North America Commercial Procurement and works closely with cross functional teams in Milwaukee, Chicago, Canada and Latin America, including Brand Marketing, Field Marketing, Sales, Media, Precision Marketing, and Marketing Analytics.
The ideal candidate for this role brings a passion for team leadership, business partnership and creative problem solving. This role requires a high level of expertise in negotiating contract terms with external vendors, strategic sourcing principles, the procure-to-pay process and the ability to partner closely with internal stakeholders in order to meet the complex needs of the business.
The Responsibilities:
- Taking action to drive culture and on-going development of your team members
- Lead transformative projects, drive simplification, and best in class ways of working within your categories
- Maintain best in class stakeholder engagement and support of the commercial agenda
- Maintain supplier relationships, lead negotiations, conduct sourcing events
- Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance and other measures of financial value
- Deliver annual and long-range business planning, development, and delivery of category strategies
- Facilitate regular business reviews with all strategic partners, utilizing scorecards and stakeholder input
- Ongoing supplier relationship management across a complex stakeholder team
- Co-develop, support, and execute commercial strategies for the Data, Insights, Sampling, eCommerce, Consumer Incentives, and Public Relations categories
- Support regional field teams in contracting for local sponsorships and in market needs
- Deliver pipeline projects for 2024-2026, while continuing to build pipeline for future years
- Utilize RFIs and RFPs to introduce competitive bids to supplier base
The Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or 5 years of relevant experience
- Expert in category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, and contract negotiation skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience in beverage or fast-moving consumer goods in a multi-national environment
