What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance technician position at Morris Home Furnishings?
General Description of Duties :
- Certifications are not required, however some experience with Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, and Carpentry is preferred.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, high pressure washers.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an as needed basis.
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Be able to climb ladders.
- Operate different types of lifts or be willing to learn.
- Be mechanically inclined and willing to learn to use new tools and equipment.
- Perform skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Qualifications :
- Well versed in inspecting premise and building
- Track record of finishing assigned tasks effectively within limited time
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively individually and with a team, self-directed
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, able to follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation required.
