We are searching for an experienced Student Accounts Manager at our Arapahoe Campus facility.

Job Summary The Student Account Manager assists students and families in the student financial planning process with the goal of enhancing and strengthening recruitment and retention of a diverse student body. Serves as primary contact for current and prospective students requesting information or needing help with their student accounts. This role is additionally responsible for student accounts receivable processing and technical system maintenance to ensure operational efficiency. Success in this role is assessed in five (5) key areas of accountability: 1) Student Customer Service, 2) Student Accounts Receivable Processing 3) Technical Support/Maintenance, 4) Supervision, and 5) Policy & Procedure.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Key Accountability 1: Student Customer Service (25% of total effort)
Act as a primary contact for students and families requesting student account assistance via phone, email, Zoom, face-to-face, and group information sessions.
Counsel students and families regarding program costs, payment deadlines, payment plans, 529 plans, State Vocational Rehabilitation, and other 3rd party payees.
Perform student outreach regarding billing alerts, payment deadlines, past-due balances, holds, stale checks, and credit balance processing.
Collect payments in-person and over the phone, and help troubleshoot online payment issues
Key Accountability 2: Student Accounts Receivable Processing (30% of total effort)
Cashier payments collected in-person, over phone, and by mail.
Process student credit balances on weekly basis.
Process Student Account Invoices: State DVR, Withdrawn/Leave of Absence students, Third Party Payees, etc.
Review student accounts to ensure accurate billing, especially in the case of course/program withdrawal/change.
Work interdepartmentally to ensure proper fee maintenance.
Perform Account Adjustments when necessary.
Provide Finance department with ACH student payment files for upload to the bank.
Record wire transfer payments and third party ACH payments, including outside aid.
Post Recruit and Admin payments in Student Information System.
Key Accountability 3: Technical Support/Maintenance (25% of total effort)
Provide technical troubleshooting for students experiencing issues on student accounts platforms.
Maintain comprehensive cross-functional working knowledge and proficiency of Student Information System (Ellucian Colleague) and Student Portals (Ellucian Self-Service, Touchnet, Microsoft Sharepoint etc.).
Continuously maintain Naropa information systems, webpages, and technical tools/resources used by Student Financial Services.
Assist in creation and maintenance of FAQs, templates, communication plan, and work-flow procedures for the Student Accounts office.
Key Accountability 4: Supervision (~10% of total effort)
Hire, train, and supervise up to two (2) work-study student employees.
Assist with supervision of cross functional Student Financial Services staff performing student accounts tasks
Key Accountability 5: Policy & Procedure (~10% of total effort)
Maintain working knowledge of all federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures related to Student Financial Services.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of written Standard Operating Procedure Manuals for Student Financial Services.
Assist with report and document compilation for annual financial aid audit and federal reporting.
Miscellaneous:
Cross-train with other Student Financial Services team members to serve as back-up when needed.
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Minimum length of prior applicable professional experience required: One (1) year of accounting and/or cash management experience, preferably in higher education

Preferred Qualification:
Three (3) years Accounts Receivable Experience
One (1) year(s) of experience at a higher education institution
Experience working with a Student Information System (preferably Colleague)
