Contract specialist

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command is seeking a Supervisory Contract Specialist servicing the Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) in Port Hueneme, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• You will communicate best business practices incorporating regulatory mandates and lessons learned.
• You will interface with technical personnel and prospective contractors to interpret and explain procurement regulation or policies, including socioeconomic programs.
• You will train or develop acquisition personnel awareness and understanding of small business program by providing formal or informal training.
• You will develop methods to improve production and increase the quality of work among employees.
• You will develop acquisition plans, formal and informal source selection plans, contract strategies, and contract types.
• You will conduct research (e.g., gather facts, determine remedies, initiate remedial actions) to resolve contract performance problems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 24 semester hours of business courses
• 3-5 years of related experience
