Job Title: Assistant Manager
Employment: Full-time
Location: Kiawah Island, South Carolina (approximately 26 miles south of Charleston)
Overview: Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to assist with the operations and facilities management of one of their premier locations. This 9,000-sq-ft waterfront facility features a dining operation, event spaces, two pools and a spa, conference room, and a state-of-the-art fitness facility with locker rooms and saunas—all overlooking the scenic Kiawah River. Since its opening in
2021, our client has welcomed many and quickly become the cornerstone of the Kiawah River experience, hosting a number of family gatherings, corporate meetings and retreats, and special events like rehearsal dinners and celebrations. They are searching for a dynamic Assistant Manager to be a part of an evolving operation in its beginnings with new amenities, a growing clientele, expanding offerings and services, etc.
The Assistant Manager reports to the Manager and their responsibilities center around the day-to-day function of this multi-faceted amenity that serves as a cornerstone of the Kiawah River experience. The ideal Assistant Manager is an individual looking for a fun and exciting learning opportunity to develop skills and an understanding of multiple different fields—hospitality, fitness, events, and food and beverage operations. Their community combines residential, retail and hospitality offerings along with
1,000 homesites, hotel, retail, event hall, and other amenities. This location is the first amenity completed and functions as the cornerstone of the community.
Responsibilities:
- Act as liaison to residents, guests, and prospects helping to create a warm, welcoming first impression and positive experience for residents and guests.
- Assist with managing the day-to-day facility operations, services, and staffing needs as they relate to dining, fitness, pool, and events.
- Aid with staff management including scheduling, on-boarding, training, and continued coaching of team members. Set example for staff on delivering exceptional service and step in as needed at peak times or when short staffed.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Spring House gatherings and functions for residents and guests as well as private event bookings.
- Maintain efficient correspondence and detailed information for feedback logs, reservation systems, etc.
- Assist with operational needs like inventory tracking and accounting procedures to maintain a well-organized and balanced budget—check requests, tracking revenue and expenses, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors and service personnel on maintenance and upkeep of facility and equipment needs.

Skills & Experience:
- Multiple years of experience in hospitality, food & beverage, facility operations, or similar fields in a leadership capacity
- College degree preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills and a demonstrated experience in resolving customer issues and complaints while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and recommend/implement effective solutions.
- Experience in managing an operations budget and ability to create reports and present information that demonstrates progress in meeting financial goals and successful operation
- Proven leadership skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. POS experience preferred.
- Confident in computer skills and ability/willingness to learn new programs and technology
- Event management experience in coordinating vendors and executing an event from start to finish.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Job entails varying physical tasks in the setup and breakdown involved in daily operations, events, etc.
Candidates should be comfortable with:

▪ While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time
▪ Must be able to bend, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl without hindrance

▪ Ability to climb on step stool or ladder in order to complete elements of the job or facilitate maintenance issues
