Summary:
Assist and Support Manager in the preparation of monthly and yearly journal entries, account reconciliations and work papers in connection with Inventory Materials. In addition, Assist and Support Manager in preparation and coordination of audit workpapers and craft responses on an as needed basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Administers the proper accounting and financial presentation of materials inventory to ensure that accounting records and financial reports reflect the fair value of inventories.
- Evaluates and determines appropriateness of accounting internal controls and recommends changes and/or additions to management.
- Directs the preparation of the periodic physical inventory counts and directs the reconciliation; develops and implements cycle counts where applicable.
- Determines the completeness and accuracy of material, fuel and parts transactions entered and/or reported by operating unit. Ensures the proper classification of transactions.
- Develops and maintains a complete monthly company-wide inventory activity reporting structure
- Determines accuracy of prices, authorizes adjustments, and establishes proper inventory valuation reserves.
- Reviews and analyzes Subsidiary Ledger and General Ledger accounts and research unusual transactions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum:
Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Finance or related area and six (6) years of applied progressive financial management and accounting experience including experience. CPA or MBA is desired. Knowledge of computerized financial systems and Oracle General Ledger System is required. Must be proficient in general PC and office software applications including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point.
