SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the development and deployment of the supply chain strategy. Additional responsibilities include promoting and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the organization to effectively drive cost out and cost avoidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Track cost savings to ensure goals are being met
- Implement strategic supplier relationships mitigating risk and forming contractual agreements with continuous improvement and cost out initiatives
- Lead selected scopes of spend including cost modeling, supplier selection, price negotiation, bid evaluation processes and proposal/specification development
- Construct and develop comprehensive cost models to effectively influence Total Cost of Ownership
- Lead projects related to operational strategy, planning and execution that will support the organization in its goal of being a Best in Class supply chain model
- Assist in implementing purchasing policies and procedures through purchasing systems and documentation
- Perform statistical analysis
- Prepare and analyze purchasing data to report procurement metrics
- Understand, follow, and support the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the management, training, direction and evaluation of the Purchasing area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws including OSHA regulations.

Ability to assemble written and oral presentations, and effectively communicate subject matter to large and small groups of customers and/or associates representing all levels of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to recognize amounts and compute rate, ratio, and percent and apply such concepts to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as exchange rates and statistics. Ability to utilize and apply data collection and analysis techniques.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and documents, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read and interpret production and sales reports/graphs, and utilize them in practical applications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business related field
- Minimum of four years Supply Chain Management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
