We are looking for an HR Operations Specialist for our Distribution Center located in Savannah, GA.

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Human Resources (HR) Director and receiving daily instructions from the HR Manager, the HR Operations Specialist provides general human resources support to the organization and specific HR support to their assigned work location. The HR Operations Specialist carries out responsibilities in various aspects of human resources including recruitment, onboarding/off-boarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, work health and safety, talent management, and HR reporting. The right candidate will possess: a solid understanding of HR practices; have an ownership attitude; a high degree of initiative; and view no task as too large or too small.

What Does this Role Involve?

General HR Duties
  • Create policies and procedures as needed
  • Oversee location’s timecard processes, for both employees and temporary workers
  • Ensure accuracy of timecard data
  • Manage all leaves of absence (LOA) matters
  • Provide support in all other special HR initiatives as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by department supervisor, manager, and/or executive management.
Employee Relations
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers in order to address employee relation matters
  • Ensure adherence to corrective action protocols
  • Assist in investigations as needed
Retention & Engagement
  • Help drive a culture in line with the company’s mission, vision and values
  • Coordinate company-wide and team events
  • Help drive clear communication throughout the organization
  • Manage the production and transmission process of our company newsletter
Risk Management
  • Manage all worker’s compensation claims & reporting requirements
  • Manage our safety policies and implement safety training requirements and protocols for our warehouse and corporate environments
  • Manage the OSHA reporting process
Workforce Administration
  • Complete new hire orientation for new employees based in assigned work location(s)
  • Oversee onboarding activities and ensure managers complete assignments for new hires
  • Ensure terminations are fair and proper
  • Conduct terminations and/or act as witness to terminations
  • Conduct and document exit interviews for resigning employees
Talent Acquisition
  • Assist the HR Recruiter with talent acquisition process tasks from requisition to offer acceptance
  • Assist in identifying new recruitment sources
  • Update & maintain all recruitment reporting requirements

HR Compliance & Reporting
  • Assist in identifying areas of non-compliance
  • Educate & enforce policies and procedures amongst all staff
  • Responsible for internal and any compulsory reporting, specifically with temporary worker assignments; LOA reporting; and Workers’ Comp reporting

What are we looking for in a candidate?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Generally requires minimum of 2-6 years of HR Generalist experience or related experience in an e-commerce and/or fulfillment/distribution environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and practices
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in HR or Business
  • Must have strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Must have a high level of discretion with prior experience handling confidential information
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage a heavy ever-changing workload
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Basic knowledge of employment law and practices, both federal and state
  • Must be able to work with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated strong sense of integrity
  • Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Equipment Knowledge:
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook); intermediate-level Excel, in particular

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a big plus, but not required
Preferred Requirements (Optional)
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow is a plus
  • PHR Certification is a plus
Physical Demands

  • Frequently see periods of prolonged sitting and repetitive motions due to use of computer equipment and telephones.

  • Occasionally stand, walk, squat, kneel, twist at the waist, use hands for fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level
  • Occasionally climb stairs to reach second-floor office locations
  • Occasionally travel by airplane and/or automobile to U.S. domestic destinations

Work Environment
  • Work performed indoors in an office facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions.
  • Certain office locations are adjacent to warehouse facility spaces with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions.
  • Noise level of the office environment is low.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.

What is in it for you?
Competitive Pay – The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $59,280 - $63,000 monthly discretionary incentive opportunity annual bonus opportunity. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30 hours per week.)
