Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, from developing and executing campaigns to managing budgets and leading a team. Leads and provides support for development, operation, growth, and promotion of OGHS, consistent with its Mission, Vision, and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan aligned with the hospital's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify target audiences and opportunities for growth.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including traditional media, digital marketing, social media, and public relations.
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure a strong return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing them with direction and guidance.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, community partners, and media outlets.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare marketing trends, regulations, and technologies.
  • Develop and manage the hospital's brand identity and messaging.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing collateral, such as brochures, website content, and advertising materials.
  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Guides development, implementation, and monitoring of marketing and public relations strategies to brand OGHS as the regional provider of choice among key physician, employer and payor groups.
  • Participates in community, industry, and professional associations to represent OGHS interests, keep abreast of developments in the health care industry related to marketing.
  • Participates in various institutional committees.
  • Actively participate in implementation of Studer principles and oversight of Journey to Excellence Coordinator. Engage in quarterly and annual auditing of LEMs for evaluation of all organizational leaders.
  • Plans and implements strategies and processes to maximize efficiency and meet objectives
  • Sets annual goals for the department and monitors progress of goal achievement through the LEM
  • Organizes the functions of the department and allocates use of available resources
  • Staffs department appropriately according to productivity standards
  • Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff
  • Monitors staff performance including goal setting and performance reviews
  • Establishes and maintain departmental controls
  • Formulates and enforces department policies and practices
  • Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
  • Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports
  • Reviews various performance metrics (i.e., financial, HCAHPS, employee engagement survey) to monitor and measure results, productivity & goal progress
  • Responsible for the achievement of department productivity and quality goals
  • Engages in and implements the Journey to Excellence tactics for the department


Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required.

Experience: 7-10 years experience in Healthcare Marketing

Additional Experience Preferred

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare marketing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and tactics (SEO, SEM, social media).
  • Budget management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
