Job Posting for Director of Marketing at Opelousas General Health System
The Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, from developing and executing campaigns to managing budgets and leading a team. Leads and provides support for development, operation, growth, and promotion of OGHS, consistent with its Mission, Vision, and strategic priorities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan aligned with the hospital's overall business objectives.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify target audiences and opportunities for growth.
Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including traditional media, digital marketing, social media, and public relations.
Manage the marketing budget and ensure a strong return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities.
Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing them with direction and guidance.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, community partners, and media outlets.
Stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare marketing trends, regulations, and technologies.
Develop and manage the hospital's brand identity and messaging.
Oversee the development and implementation of marketing collateral, such as brochures, website content, and advertising materials.
Track and analyze marketing campaign performance and make adjustments as needed.
Guides development, implementation, and monitoring of marketing and public relations strategies to brand OGHS as the regional provider of choice among key physician, employer and payor groups.
Participates in community, industry, and professional associations to represent OGHS interests, keep abreast of developments in the health care industry related to marketing.
Participates in various institutional committees.
Actively participate in implementation of Studer principles and oversight of Journey to Excellence Coordinator. Engage in quarterly and annual auditing of LEMs for evaluation of all organizational leaders.
Plans and implements strategies and processes to maximize efficiency and meet objectives
Sets annual goals for the department and monitors progress of goal achievement through the LEM
Organizes the functions of the department and allocates use of available resources
Staffs department appropriately according to productivity standards
Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff
Monitors staff performance including goal setting and performance reviews
Establishes and maintain departmental controls
Formulates and enforces department policies and practices
Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports
Reviews various performance metrics (i.e., financial, HCAHPS, employee engagement survey) to monitor and measure results, productivity & goal progress
Responsible for the achievement of department productivity and quality goals
Engages in and implements the Journey to Excellence tactics for the department
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required.
Experience: 7-10 years experience in Healthcare Marketing
Additional Experience Preferred
Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
Strong understanding of healthcare marketing principles and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Experience with digital marketing strategies and tactics (SEO, SEM, social media).
Budget management experience.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
