We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Clinic.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse: Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process at a level commensurate with the clinical skill and licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary team members; providing support to meet the specific needs of patients at our Clinic and Ambulatory
Infusion Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- The Registered Nurse will possess the clinical knowledge to provide care for the patient
- The Registered Nurse will work directly with the Physician in the assessment of patient needs in the clinic and ambulatory infusion center
- Review patient charts for next day to have a foundation for visit expectations
- Prepare patients for examination (vitals, medication sheets, etc.)
- Assists provider with examinations
- Call in prescriptions and refills for clinic patients and for hospital outpatients (including controlled substances).
- Triage phone calls and patient clinical concerns
- Perform diagnostic procedures and treatments as ordered (EKG, IM, SQ, lab draws,
immunizations, weight checks, blood pressure checks, etc)
- Review incoming clinical reports for abnormal and keep provider informed
- Keep drug cabinet organized and stocked with current expiration dates documented in the logs
- Assist with office duties as required (answer phones, filing documents and charts, etc.)
- Follow Joint Commission and Rural Healthcare Clinic Regulations standards and protocol
- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual
patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual
support to patients, friends, and families
- Promotes patient’s independence by teaching patient to understand condition, medications,
and self-care skills; answering questions
- Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and
regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling in repairs according to policy to ensure patient safety
- Administer short-term outpatient infusion for hydration, central line care, and bio therapy administration as needed by other services.
- Working under the care of our Physician and Nurse Practitioner
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Computer Skills required
- Nursing experience preferred
- Physician office experience preferred
- Ambulatory infusion experience preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the State of Missouri upon hire required
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality,
infection spread, etc.)
- Exemplary customer service experience including client relationships and job knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively; ability to critically thin
- Knowledge of quality control
- Ability to exercise manual dexterity, control precision and arm-hand steadiness accurately
- Ability to be empathetic with patients; ability to maintain confidentiality
