We need a Director of Ecommerce to lead a team of ecommerce professionals to drive revenue growth and optimize performance for brand partners on Amazon and other US marketplaces. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans, fostering strong relationships with brand partners, helping to achieve sales performance goals, managing P&L for brands, and staying abreast of industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation in ecommerce operations. This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, UT. Frequently Asked Questions What is a day in the life of a Director of Ecommerce? Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 Senior Ecommerce Managers and 1 Associate Director, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful management of brand partner portfolios Oversee the performance and growth of all Pattern brand partner seller accounts managed by your team, comprising roughly 40-50 brands and ~$500 million in revenue Establish and maintain strong relationships with brand partners, handling complex brand negotiations and escalations Assume responsibility for P&L performance of all managed brands Partner cross-functionally with Inventory Management, Logistics, and Advertising teams to ensure optimal inventory flow and advertising strategies Lead quarterly and annual business review sessions with brand partners, communicating effectively with your team and external brand leadership Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive ecommerce strategies for each brand partner, focusing on driving revenue growth and market expansion across online marketplaces Serve as an ecommerce expert with a deep knowledge of platform capabilities and business levers Monitor key performance metrics and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and strategic optimization of ecommerce initiatives for brand partners What will I need to thrive in this role? Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, ecommerce, or a related field 10 years of experience in ecommerce management and .com commercial efforts, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion for retail brands In-depth knowledge of online marketplaces, most importantly Amazon, as well as ecommerce best practices and trends Retail background with an ecommerce brand is preferred but not required, in order to more effectively think from the standpoint of Pattern’s brand partners Past strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and developing high-performing talent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external brand partners Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive strategic decision-making and optimization of ecommerce initiatives Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of accountability and a proactive approach to problem-solving Management consulting experience a plus What does high performance look like? What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days? First 30 days: In the initial 30 days, success will be marked by a thorough understanding of Pattern's business model, organizational structure, and existing client portfolio. You will have completed comprehensive onboarding sessions and established relationships with your team members, gaining insight into their strengths, areas for development, and the unique dynamics of their brand partner portfolios. Success will also entail conducting a comprehensive review of current ecommerce strategies, performance metrics, and key initiatives, identifying areas of opportunity and potential challenges. First 60 days: By the end of the first 60 days, success will be demonstrated by the development and communication of a clear vision and strategic roadmap for driving growth and maximizing value for brand partners. You will have collaborated with your team to refine and prioritize action plans, setting measurable goals and milestones for the upcoming months. Additionally, success will involve initiating proactive discussions with brand partners to gather feedback, align expectations, and identify opportunities for improvement or expansion. First 90 days: Within the first 90 days, success will be evident through tangible progress in executing strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results. You will have implemented optimization strategies to improve product listings, enhance search visibility, and increase conversion rates across online marketplaces. Furthermore, you will have fostered strong partnerships with brand partners, earning their trust and confidence in Pattern's ability to drive their ecommerce success. Overall, success in the first 90 days will set a solid foundation for long-term growth and success in the role of Director of Ecommerce. What is the team like? You will manage a team of 8-12 ecommerce professionals. You will work with the other Directors of Ecommerce and be supervised by the VP of Ecommerce. You will also be mentored by the Chief Brand Officer and meet with them on a regular basis to discuss your performance. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members. Sounds great! What’s the company culture?
