Summary:
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting employees and leadership. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: continuous benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Summary:
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting employees and leadership. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: continuous benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
- Essential Functions:
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirement and government reporting regulations affecting the human resources function and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
- Reviews policies/procedures and collaborates with appropriate parties to offer and implement continuous improvements.
- Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, duties, qualification and skills.
- Recruits and onboards employees to fill vacant positions both through the internal and external job posting program. Adheres to AAP and all legal requirements for job posting and hiring process.
- Assists in recruiting by developing and maintaining a network of contacts and works with external recruiters and employment agencies to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Assists with planning and conducting efficient and thorough new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics in Kronos (HRIS)
- Listens to and advises employees to aid in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs in a timely manner.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Answers employee benefit questions, participates in Open Enrollment, new hire benefit elections and assists with the employee benefit process.
- Assists in planning and coordinating company events.
- Ability to make decisions independently and ability to multi task are essential.
- Responsible for adherence to all safety polices, practices and procedures.
- Leads by example with excellent attendance/Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work at either Albany Titanium facility

Qualifications: :
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification desired. (Financial assistance available to pursue and complete certification(s).)
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of candidates or employees of organization.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, compensation, accruals, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; and Microsoft Office tools.
