Maintenance technician

People Ready Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for a position in Stokie, IL. You will be responsible for assisting the staff in the day-to-day operation of the facility.

• Assist in handling operational emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
• Maintaining alarms systems and gas detectors including preventive maintenance tasks basic troubleshooting of HMI
• Maintaining safety equipment and facilities including but not limited to fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and first aid kits
• Responsible for daily waste handling
• Review manuals, extract information, and write instructions to provide training to peers and end-users on the proper and safe operation in areas of responsibility
• Responsible for documenting equipment maintenance and work that was undertaken to ensure accuracy of records in the maintenance record system (i.e. NetSuite)
• Maintaining awareness of Health & Safety issues and reporting as appropriate Be an active member of the alarm responder team for afterhours duties
• Willing to work late hours as the job requires
• Assist with all areas of work and act as backup for Technician II and Technician III responsibilitiesQualifications :
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem solving / Decision making skills / Self-Starter Results / Detail oriented, able to work with a sense of urgency
• Able to work an ON CALL Schedule for afterhours emergencies
• Have reliable transportation to and from the job daily
• Work in a fast-paced environment Able to bend and stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably throughout the day Able to work any required overtime as needed to complete a task
