Shipping Lead

Do you have lead and shipping experience? Bring your skillset to the shipping department of a local distribution center in Ontario, CA. We are looking for someone to streamline shipping/receiving processes for effectiveness, suggest improvements, and lead the shipping department team. The main goal is to always ensure timely, accurate and secure shipping and distribution.

salary: $20 - $21 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 11 AM - 8 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all functions of Outbound
  • 1. Calls carriers for specific daily pick-ups.
  • 2. Assures all freight is correctly loaded on trailers before departing for the day, to assure our customers receive their shipments on their scheduled days.
• Prioritizes Outbound flow of product - Daily / Hourly makes adjustments with associates of the area to assure work gets processed effectively and most efficiently. Determines priorities to ensure workflow is expedited properly.
• Does all training related to the dock side of the business.
• Acts as a point of contact to internal and external departments by providing updates on the status of Shipping Orders, Purchase Orders, and Carrier arrivals.
• Ensure alignment between the physical load and systematic placement of each load prior to
  departure.
• Communicate any discrepancy between systematic quantities and physical quantities to internal
  customers and department; following-up and escalating accordingly and providing excellent
  customer service.

The essential functions of this role include:

working in a smoke free environment

wearing steel toe shoes

manual lifting up to 30lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
