REPORTS TO: Store Manager
STATUS: Non Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for assisting customers with selecting rental merchandise to meet their needs and budgetary requirements, recording and processing transactions, maintaining showroom appearance and assisting in other areas of the store as needed by management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greet customers and assist customers on sales floor in choosing appropriate merchandise.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Answer phone and conduct telephone sales as necessary.
- Explain rent-to-own program to customers.
- Recommend and quote prices on tires and wheels.
- Assist the customer in completing required paperwork.
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork.
- Assist with order form verifications as necessary.
- Prepare rental agreements or sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Close and explain the rental agreement with the customer.
- Sell and explain any and all peripheral services, products or accessories.
- Coordinate delivery activities with shop personnel.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Update customer records in the computer.
- Process payments, agreements, exchanges and other transactions.
- Investigate and resolve customer service problems with deliveries.
- Keep showroom clean and organized
- Assist in opening and/or closing the store as required.
- Perform duties which include rentals, sales, verifications, collections, installations, etc. as necessary.
- Utilize internal company resources including intranet, fitment guide, etc., when needed.
- Perform additional marketing and sales duties as assigned.
- Maintain the highest level of compliance with all company policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Ability to work Saturdays and split days off until 7 p.m. or later.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED; or six months to one year sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous RTO and/or wheel and tire experience is desirable.
Language Ability:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to read, speak and understand Spanish desirable.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software, Internet software and Database software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid in state driver’s license.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
