We are looking for a Manufacturing Administrator to join our team in Salem, VA. Our state-of-the-art automotive production facility is serving the needs of a large customer in a fast-paced environment. 


Job Summary: 


The Manufacturing Administrator is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to collaborating with the customer and the staff to accommodate production schedule changes, carry out the purchasing needs of the company, the planning and facilitation of company workshops/events, conducting audits of various internal processes for compliance, and booking the travel arrangements of plant personnel. This role will have a myriad of responsibilities all focused on improving the operation of the company and will occasionally include project management duties.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in various capacities on special strategic projects including but not limited to the launch of new  systems or the elimination of redundant processes.  
  • Leads special strategic projects at the direction of the Plant Manager. 
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual administrative reports/presentations at the direction of the leadership team. 
  • Primary role responsible for purchasing duties. Receive requests, obtain quotes, and initiate purchase requests. Monitors purchase orders and proposes continuous improvement initiatives to the process. 
  • Negotiates contracts, rates and services with appropriate vendors and regularly evaluates their performance, competitiveness, and quality. 
  • Manages online purchasing platforms and credentials and makes them available to the appropriate parties  in the organization. 
  • Drafts meeting agendas, company and content presentations as well as written communication to the  company on behalf of the Plant Manager. 
  • Facilitates quarterly plant-wide town hall meetings. 
  • Books, monitors, and manages travel arrangements.
  • Performs various administrative tasks in the planning of company workshops and events including but not limited to the reservations of appropriate venues, restaurants, and entertainment spaces. 
  • Keeps meeting minutes for the leadership team and enforces task deadlines on behalf of the Plant Manager as appropriate. 
  • Critically evaluates confidential content for and with the Plant Manager before its release to the organization.  
  • Maintains accurate inventory and stock of office materials and other goods, particularly before mandatory in-office time of remote workers or the executive leadership team.  
  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities: 

  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form trusting relationships with both internal and external customers.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage different target audiences in various projects. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and to manage conflicting deadlines.  
  • Structured and reliable way of work with the ability to draft and implement new processes quickly and mostly independently.  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Adaptable with reliable planning skills and the ability to anticipate organizational needs. 


Education and Experience: 

  • Associate degree in business administration or related field is preferred. 
  • At least three years of professional experience.  

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.  
  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically.
