Role Summary
As Technical Program Manager, Service Parts NPI, you will drive service part implementation into the Service Supply Chain. By leveraging your technical background and program management experience, you'll collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop the Service BOM for new vehicles, minimizing complexity, optimizing for customer experience, and ensure supply continuity for Rivian's Service BOM portfolio. This opening will have a flex/hybrid work style and will be based out of our offices in Irvine, CA, reporting directly to Manager, Service Parts NPI.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with Service Engineers to develop the Service BOM for new vehicles, to determine which parts of the vehicle will be serviced and implemented in the global service network
- Go-to-Market new part introduction and program launch responsibilities (service level to service center launch)
- Ownership of End of Life parts analysis process for your vehicle systems to mitigate obsolescence, ensure supply continuity, mitigate inaccurate forecasting, and align on commercial and warehousing strategy terms
- Technical expertise and analysis of design changes in part designs to determine supersession and compatibility relationships for your parts
- Support exception management reporting, part serviceability escalations, and proactive monitoring of new part introductions to ensure supply continuity for your parts
- Collaborate with purchasing, demand planning, supply chain, global distribution centers, engineering, and other partners to understand demand forecast drivers that will impact supply continuity
- Drive first principles approach in cross-functional decision making to move sourcing, service level, and forecasting forward, enabling supply continuity across the service network
- Seek out new innovations and present new strategies to continuously improve all areas of your work and the organization
- Ability to flex in and out of varying BOM Systems in line with changes to the Service program portfolio
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Automotive, Tier 1, OEM, or technical field (vehicle repair a plus)
- Bachelors (Masters Preferred) with emphasis in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering or related discipline
- CAD/Catia/Enovia/PLM experience
- Analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities to allow decision-making or presenting recommendations to the business
- Experience analyzing design changes (vehicle repair / aftermarket a plus)
- Experience managing complex Bills of Material (Service BOM a plus)
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP with focused experience on product lifecycle management, bills of material, supply chain operations, and procure to pay processes (SAP experience a plus)
- The ability to sit or stand for 8-12 hours per day
- The ability to communicate using telephone and/or e-mail/slack
- The ability to read and interpret documents and engineering data
- The ability to lift or carry at least 25 pounds
- Minimum age of 21
- No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period)
- No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years
- Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
- Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
Salary Rate for California Based Applicants: $107,000 to $123,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
