This role involves various HR duties, including recruiting, owning new hire orientation, managing the employee handbook, and handling employee relations and compliance issues. Located in the Tillamook, Oregon area, this will be a hybrid role allowing for remote work 3 days a week. This is a temporary role looking to span about two months, and is a great opportunity for anyone with prior experience as an HR Generalist.
Your responsibilities
- Engage with other teams, including with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- Assess employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
- Design templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Design & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
- Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
- Work with other members of the HR department to manage the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Employee relations, including engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
- Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department
- Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
Requirements
- Experience with full cycle recruiting
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- This role needs to be highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
- Skilled in technology applications and software, as well as social media platforms
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Prior experience or knowledge managing Open Enrollment is a plus
- Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Prior HR Generalist experience preferred
