What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Robert Half?
Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the primary function of the Human Resources Generalist is to assist in the coordination and implementation of human resources activities with a core focus on employee benefits administration and employee leave coordination.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:
- Coordinates and assists with the administration of employee health and benefit plans including preparing annual census, open enrollment program, employee enrollments, changes, and terminations after probationary period; processing required benefit documentation through payroll and ensures accurate billing; enrolling terminated employees into third party COBRA system. Updates time off accruals in the payroll system.
- Point of contact for employees requesting a leave of absence to include FMLA, Disability, Military, Parental, etc. Maintaining compliance with Company policies, State and Federal employment laws. Ensures all paperwork is received and processed. Coordinate with leave employees on their medical benefits, paid time off, filling out timecards, and return to work process. Assists with Reasonable Accommodation requests.
- Assists with recruiting efforts by participating in the interview and selection process. Represents at career fairs and networking events as needed.
- Assists with new hire onboarding as needed by composing offer letters, processing requests for criminal background records checks, employment, degree and military service verification checks. Represents Human Resources department in new hire orientation process. Assists Training Manager with coordination of new hire orientation process and training and development efforts as needed.
- Assists with the review and update of the Veterans Inc. Policy and Procedure Manual. Ensures personnel files are up to date in hard and soft copies. Assist with the coordination of monthly staff meeting. Responds to verification of employment requests. Other duties as assigned.
Keys:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required, PHR/SHRM preferred, 3 years of related experience (NON-Profit a HUGE plus)
- HR Generalist skills, full cycle needed however focus on: Benefits Administration, Employment law/LOA’s and Compliance are highly preferred

Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 1 years of human resources experience
- Super organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset are a must
- PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications a plus
- Ability to influence, interact, and build strong relationships at all levels across the organization
- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
- Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
- Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
