The Position
Roncelli is currently seeking a full-time Project Safety Lead (traveling) for our Energy/Solar division with experience within the energy/solar construction industry. The Project Safety Lead will plan, implement, audit and supervise Solar projects safety programs in compliance with our corporate safety program and contractual requirements. Roncelli is looking for a candidate who has a positive go-getting attitude, professional demeanor, strong verbal communication, customer focused, team orientated mindset, and strong computer / organizational skills.
This position will require travel within the United States. Currently we are looking to build our traveling team to support the following locations: areas: Chicago, IL, Kearney, NJ and Coldwater, MI.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health or 5 years experience within the Solar/Energy construction industry.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience within the solar/energy/commercial construction/industrial safety experience.
• OSHA 500, OSHA 30, MIOSHA certifications & First aid / CPR preferred.
• Knowledge of construction and industrial safety requirements
• Thorough understanding and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company regulations including project/owner specific.
• Ability to present orientations, safety stand downs & safety training to large audiences.
• Ability to objectively investigate incidents, accidents & near misses and generate accurate and thorough reports.
• Strong computer skills. Experience with software, including ProCore, Hammertech, SharePoint, Kwant would make a great candidate for this position.
Role and Responsibilities
Observe, mitigate & report hazardous working conditions and unsafe behavior on our projects, through field corrections, safety stand downs or work stoppages. While seamlessly communicating with our project team and Corporate Health & Safety Director
The ability to perform safety training to our team members and trade contractors as necessary.
Review subcontractor safety plans, which includes pre-task plans, crane lifts, steel erection, confined space, excavation work, fall protection & rescue plans. Subcontractor trades include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, steel erection, concrete installation, etc.
Assist in the development of a detailed site/owner specific safety programs and orientation plans and work with project team for the proper orientation and tracking of all site personnel.
Conduct work area inspections, (fall protection, excavations, ladder use, SDS, aerial lift use, hot work, hazardous materials, environmental factors, lock out/tag out, scaffolding, etc.)
Assist in the development, review and tracking of PTPs for our Roncelli tradesmen.
Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate effective action as required.
Lead owner and regulatory safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours of our projects.
Support site project team & Safety Director with additional tasks as assigned.
The Location
Roncelli’s headquarters is located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This position will report to our main office in Sterling Heights, MI from time to time, but travel to jobsites with Chicago, Kearny, and Coldwater will be required.
