Description
The RTI Global Tax Team is looking for a Tax Analyst to join us at the RTI International Headquarters in Durham, North Carolina (working remote, onsite or hybrid). In this role you will be responsible for compliance with international, federal, state, and local tax laws, and coordinate research as needed on the tax consequences of RTI’s activities.
Essential Duties:
- Tax return compliance and preparation of corporate tax return, including Federal Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income, 990-T Exempt Organization Unrelated Business Income (UBI) Tax Return and applicable state corporate tax returns
- Preparation of required state indirect tax returns
- Preparation of required international tax filings
- Preparation of tax provisions
- Monitor tax filing frequencies through maintenance of the tax calendar
- Review projects to determine classification for UBI
- Provide guidance to RTI staff tax related matters as appropriate
- Track legislative tax developments for potential impact and advise accordingly
- Communicate with RTI’s outside tax advisors as needed
- Assist with responses to audits and other regulatory related inquiries
- Quarterly reconciliation of tax accounts
- Quarterly calculation and payment of tax estimates
- Assist with preparing of relevant and requested management reports
- Adhere to internal control measures
- Assist and/or lead additional projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation and 3 years of experience, Master's degree and 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience with tax compliance
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- High-level organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
