As a Data Analyst within the Sevenstep Analytics & Intelligence team, you will review, compile, and analyze company data for a portfolio of accounts. Each year we process hundreds of thousands of jobs seekers and our mission is to help make sense of those interactions and help Sevenstep in the pursuit of hiring top-tier talent for our clients.  It is a complex human process and difficult to predict.  Our Data Analysts use data that helps shape our business strategy, identify growth opportunities, understand applicant and hiring behavior, and provide our stakeholders with actionable intelligence.

We are seeking interested candidates in the Boston area. We are currently all working remotely due to COVID, but once we are back in offices, this position would require travel to the office on an as needed basis. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible to:

  • Create and develop reports, data models, analysis, and statistical calculations as needed
  • Support client and internal reporting needs, such as running monthly/quarterly reports as well as ad hoc reports
  • Analyze past and present operations trends, identify root causes, and create predictive analysis that drives process improvement
  • Interpret data and communicate findings with executive stakeholders, management, business partners as well as other employees up to and including those in leadership positions
  • Be involved in ongoing innovation and process improvements by maintaining current knowledge of business intelligence trends and recommending optimizations to processes for measurement, control, and analysis

Required Skillsets and Experience:

  • 6 months of experience or a relevant Masters degree in business intelligence, data analytics, data science, or reporting & analysis
  • 6 months of experience using and manipulating data in Excel
  • 6 months of experience with SQL (or other data management systems or database)

Preferred Skillsets and Experience:

  • Education/Experience with Python (or other programming languages)
  • Education/Experience with Looker (or other data visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau, etc)
  • Education/Experience with Data Science techniques and tools such as data mining, machine learning, and linear regression
