HR Generalist
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
This position consults and is responsible for areas that include employee relations, employee selection, policies and procedures, training, and performance management. The HR Manager fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with managers on employee issues and provides a variety of human resources solutions to meet business initiatives.
- Creates and implements a comprehensive strategy for employee relations programs.
- Responsible for onboarding and new hire processes.
- Oversees payroll and timekeeping process. Processes hourly payroll on a weekly basis as needed.
- Administers leave of absence including, but not limited to FMLA, and ADA.
- Coordinates the use of temporary employees as needed with vendors and acts as liaison to leadership by assigning temporary staff, cancellation of temporary assignments, process of invoices and monthly reports.
- Maintains a professional and positive employee relations environment that is consistent with implementation of progressive management practices. Will assist other locations with employee-related issues when needed.
- Provides HR Generalist support across the operations organization.
- Provides training for managers and associates on compliance questions, policy issues and HR audit matters.
- Works with outside recruiting firms in the selection of talented individuals to assist the organization in meeting business initiatives.
- Functions as the liaison between contractors and legal.
- Provides counsel to managers and employees regarding company policies, procedures and workplace issues. Advises managers on the interpretation of employment law.
- Assists leadership in analyzing and resolving employee relations issues.
- Enters and updates Human Resource Information System and Timekeeping records for Non-Exempt associates and prepares reports from the database as needed.
- Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
- Coordinates employee events.
- Actively responds in H.R. as a customer service agent.
- Assists in Recruitment of hourly employees and other duties as assigned.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required, with a discipline in Human Resources preferred.
- SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 5 years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products, SAP and Time and Attendance systems (ADP Preferred).
- Good knowledge of employment-related labor laws and regulations.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- PHR/SPHR preferred.
