MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in which clerical work was a major duty
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on the basis of six months of training for six months of experience.
Completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required one year of experience.
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for six months of experience.
NOTE:
Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments. Similarly, college training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Function of Work:
To perform a variety of clerical duties that requires some independent judgment to accomplish in support of the staff members and/or operations of an organizational unit or program.
Employees follow detailed procedural guidelines in completing well-defined duties.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Administrative Coordinator 1 by the presence of responsibility for clerical duties that require some independent judgment to perform.
Differs from Administrative Coordinator 3 by the absence of advanced level duties that not only require some independent judgment, but also involve a greater scope and complexity.
Incumbent for this position will serve as administrative support for the Indian Creek Recreation Area of the Office of Forestry, Department of Agriculture and Forestry. This recreation area is visited annually by over 300,000 people for its recreational facilities such as camping, boating, hiking, picnicking and swimming. Supervision is received by the Administrative Program Manager 1. Incumbent will be responsible for performing duties related to the operation of Indian Creek Recreation Area.
These duties include, but are not limited to:

- Takes reservations over the phone or in person; assists customers with on-line reservation system.
- Checks in patrons, collecting fees and explaining the rules and regulations of the recreation area.
- Checks out patrons at the end of their stay.
- Receives payments, both cash and credit cards.
- Distributes tickets (day passes) for visitors and campers.
- Completes registration forms for golf carts; ensures all drivers are registered and meet eligibility requirements.
- Closes out the register and the end of the day; ensures monies are secure.
35%- Takes inventory of rental equipment; ensures all equipment is secure and in proper working order.
- Receives and answers questions, both in person and over the telephone, from the general public and patrons.
- Files documents and operates office equipment, such as computer, copier and facsimile machine.
30%- Assists in monitoring the recreation area to ensure campers are on correct site or vacate the site within approved time frames.
- Assists in cleaning of restrooms, picks up trash, and ensures the grounds and facilities are maintained during their shift.
