What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at Stream IT?
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance.
- Subassembly/assembly
- Use of manual and power tools, as well as basic measurement equipment.
Operators will need to follow instructions and record process information as needed while Building subassemblies needed in the assembly line (i.e.: engine pistons, connecting rods, cylinder heads).
- Building engines following specific work instructions for each work station.
- Engine knowledge and workings a plus
- Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
- Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke and visual standards.
- Performs quality inspections.
- Identifies and controls non-conforming material.
- Achieves production goals.
- Works at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.
- Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.
- Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong Mechanical Assembly skills – precision measuring equipment
- Working with power tools

Job Type: Contract
Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
