that customer service is the first priority. Receives and confirms room reservations by letter, telephone, email, or personal contact. Registers and assigns rooms to guests, makes and issues room keys, and may escort guests to rooms as needed. This includes climbing stairs and/or use of the elevator. Have basic knowledge of how to use a computer and input information using a keyboard. Calculates and posts charges to patrons' accounts. Accepts payment, makes change, and presents departing guests checkout statements. Prepares and safeguards cash receipts, prepares daily cashier's report. Maintains current checkout list. Maintains and sells market sales items to patrons. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Ensures required information is received from guest and entered into guest folio. Ensures housekeeping status of rooms is updated. Records and notifies appropriate person of maintenance problems reported by guests. Fill in the next shift of anything they need to know. Needs to be able to handle all types of situations calmly and politely. Process Night Audit procedures and close credit card machines nightly. Maintains the lost and found program. Must be able to fold laundry repetitively. May have to lift up to 35 lbs at a time. First shift will have to set up breakfast, stock, and maintain it during their shift. Other shifts may need to help out with breakfast as well. Ensure front desk area and lobby remains clean. Keep coffee area stocked and clean. Vacuum the lobby stairs if needed. Will have to do laundry daily. Dust window sills if needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
