Primary Purpose:
To develop, implement and oversee Tallgrass Energy's information governance and Records Management programs. Lead initiatives associated with the Records and Information Management programs including policies, training and compliance with rules and regulations.
Essential Duties and r\Responsibilities:
- Develop, update and provide oversight and governance for policies and procedures of the Records Management program..
- Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of Tallgrass Energy's records maintenance and retention to meet business requirements and comply with state and federal requirements.
- Understand and inform management of state and federal retention and disposition requirements.
- Maintain and update records retention schedules
- Communicate and provide support for the implementation of records and information policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement and monitor auditing plans and processes for compliance with the records management policy, retention schedules, associated policies and procedures, and legal accountability requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor ongoing records management training programs for managers and employees.
- Identify vital records and develop appropriate disaster protection and recovery methods.
- Partner with IT to develop best practices and procedures related to managing electronic information repositories and the identification of emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with IT to define and address the incorporation of lifecycle management requirements into information management systems design.
- Build and maintain program effectiveness by setting benchmarks, evaluating program performance, and reallocating resources accordingly.
- Manage records management service supplier relationships.
- Consult with internal groups in the design of records programs by relating business processes and legal and operational issues to records management requirements..
- Assess and deliver activity and statistical reports, as required, for all aspect of the records retention program.
- Participate in overseeing email management systems and requirements to satisfy records management legal requirements associated with email retention and retrieval.
- Manage contractors and expenses in line with the program budget.
- Evaluate and recommend media format and storage requirements to be used throughout life cycle of records/information.
- Develop and implement systems to maintain inventory of stored records.
- Evaluate and make recommendations concerning hardware, software and systems to improve efficiencies.
- Lead projects to facilitate proper record storage and destruction in both paper and electronic formats.
- Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
- Manage Electronic Document Management strategy and work plan.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Library Sciences, IT, Business or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years direct work experience in Records Management may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- A minimum of five (5) years' active and direct work experience in a Records Information Management environment.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels internally and externally.
- Write effectively and understand written communications, including but not limited to email.
- Ability to lead management of information from creation or receipt though processing, distribution, organization, storage and retrieval, and final disposition.
- Demonstrated experience training in both large group settings and one-on-one.
- Ability to work independently to manage tasks and timelines.
- Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve a variety of RIM issues, often sensitive, and from the simple to complex.
- Ability to identify expectations in an employee/employer relationship.
- Demonstrated ability to manage centrally located and remote employees.
- Ability to maintain a measurable high level of performance.
- Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Yes
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role with Records Management highly desirable.
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP)
- Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with information processing systems, software applications, and supporting hardware and networks for the processing and distribution of data.
