Position Summary

As the Assistant Director of Stewardship Impact Reporting, you will play a key role in creatively communicating the impact of UConn’s donors and strengthening their relationship with the Foundation and the University. You will manage a comprehensive and creative stewardship program, developing specialized communications and reports that will celebrate donor support and convey the impact of that support across the University. You will be responsible for multiple stewardship processes, including scholarship stewardship and endowment reporting. This is a very collaborative role and you will work regularly with Foundation colleagues and University partners to identify and leverage impact stories to deepen donor relationships.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement specialized donor communications and reporting materials that convey donor impact, including personalized stewardship written or visual communications and impact reports, in partnership with the Senior Director of Donor Relations & Stewardship, Director of Principal Gift Stewardship, and other Stakeholder Engagement and/or Advancement colleagues. May serve as a liaison with these colleagues and/or other teams to integrate stewardship impact into event, engagement, or communication strategies.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive and multi-tiered scholarship stewardship program to connect recipients and donors both through print and electronic delivery.
  • Represent the team throughout the annual endowment report process and manages collection of endowed faculty reports in coordination with Foundation colleagues. Collaborates with academic unit representatives and the Office of the Provost to monitor endowed faculty vacancies and appointments and maintain master list.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Donor Relations & Stewardship in educational training for Foundation colleagues and University partners around stewardship processes, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Creatively apply best practices and new technologies in developing strategies to enhance impact reporting, storytelling, and donor communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Demonstrate excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skills, including proofreading, editing and drafting high-level correspondence, donor communications, and impact writing projects.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, particularly utilizing mail merges. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and video stewardship platforms, such as ThankView.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of donor database/CRM.
  • Exhibit a strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and build collaborative relationships with internal colleagues and University partners.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity in dealing with confidential donor information.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and produce high quality work products within set deadlines and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of meaningful donor relations and stewardship to contribute to the overall strategic goals, mission, and priorities of both the Foundation and the University.
  • Be able to work to the demands of the position, which may exceed a 40-hour work week.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience in fundraising, communications, community relations, and/or relevant transferable skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or video stewardship platform, such as ThankView, a plus.

Salary:

The expected salary for this position is $60,000 . It will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also placing an emphasis on internal equity.
