IT Support Specialist
3 Month Contract
General Summary: You will be supporting productivity, communication, and scientific applications in a state of the art research facility!
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide first level support to all PC hardware and software problems.
- Provision, configure, deploy, and re-deploy new computers and related equipment.
- Provide IT support during on-boarding and off-boarding of employees.
- Support end-users/remote users on a variety of technical issues.
- Provide AV/meeting support to cross-functional teams.
- Maintain an accurate computer inventory & identify, research, & resolve technical problems.
- Track & monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution, document helpdesk tickets.
- Troubleshoot system problems, perform routine administration tasks
- Provide IT support for laboratory instruments and support end-users in the laboratory environment.
Job Qualifications & required skills
- 2 years' experience working in a helpdesk support environment
- BS in Management Information System/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with helpdesk ticketing system(s).
- Ability to configure and deploy systems with a disk image/cloning application.
- Experience providing meeting support, troubleshoot AV, teleconference equipment.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, creating, disabling and maintaining users and computers.
- Ability to prioritize & manage several tasks and maintain effective work relationships in a team environment.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to learn and perform in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to effectively solve customer IT related issues.
- Previous experience providing support to end-user in a biotech industry preferred.
- Previous experience providing support in a laboratory environment, troubleshooting lab instruments and applications preferred.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
