Gulfport Behavioral Health System, is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services.

Position Summary:

 

Join the Social Services team where the PRN Program Therapist plans, provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to patients.  This includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, attending/conducting unit and hospital meeting, discharge/care planning and follow-up, resource development/assistance.  PRN weekend coverage primarily doing group therapy for each patient unit or evenings 5p-8p in Outpatient Services.  


Qualifications

Education:  Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.

 

Experience:  Preferably a minimum of two (2) years’ experience and in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.

 

Licensure/Certifications:  LCSW, LMSW or LPC license to practice in the State of Mississippi preferred.  

 

Additional Requirements:  CPR certification and CPI certification (management of aggressive behavior training) within 90 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.  Training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
