Responsibilities

Recruitment:
Sources, screens, interviews and recommends candidates for multiple levels of positions in the organization, including professional and some senior management levels.
Utilize recruitment expertise to source and create strategies for difficult to recruit positions.
Coordinator for units' Diversity Recruitment plan to ensure continued work in the area of diversity. This includes work with Bay Area community organizations, leading the review of internal business and recruitment practices and increase outreach strategies.
Work in a highly collaborative manner with others across the organization, external contacts of significance, and members of campus management.
Resolves a wide range of employment issues using skills as an experienced employment professional with a full understanding of employment and recruiting practices and HR policies and procedures.

Recruiting Operations:
Manage, update and complete recruitment People & culture tickets in a timely fashion.
Plan, direct and coordinate the delivery of a variety of employment services to the Berkeley campus, which includes requisition review and approval, advertising coordination and recommendation, human resources management system trouble shooting and customer service to hiring department and applicants for the campus.
Advisor to the Space Sciences Laboratory [SSL] on employment policies and procedures as well as employment law.
Resolves a wide range of employment issues using advanced skills as an employment professional with a comprehensive understanding of employment and recruiting practices and campus policies and procedures.
Conducts advertising campaigns and places employment ads in publications and internet sources.
Produce unit's reports measuring metrics in the areas of employment activity for the campus.
Ensures that data in pursuit of diversity goals is measured and evaluated and recruitment strategies adjusted accordingly.
Draft offer letters and employment contracts.
Be aware of and ensure department adheres to Talent Acquisition standards and processes.

Special Placement Consideration Program:
Provide counseling and recruitment assistance to medically separated and/or laid off employees exercising their preferential rehire rights.
Manages the Special Placement Candidate process which includes the review and approval for departmental qualifications review process.
Develop and provide information regarding specialized outplacement services to laid-off and medically separated employees: resume preparation and review, interview skill coaching, career counseling, job search strategies and tools, information about resources on campus to aid in their search.
Collaborate with nearby campus and community organizations to develop job leads for displaced worker population.

Training and Development:
Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development for SSL Supervisors regarding recruitment related topics.
Deliver job search preparation workshops.
Active liaison and presenter for Manager/Supervisor training program that impacts campus supervisors.
Evaluate and measure all training results; modify training programs as needed.

Project Management:
Organize and represent SSL opportunities at various program and events sponsored by Talent Acquisition such as job fairs, networking and diversity events.
Conduct research and analyzes data on assigned projects.
Required Qualifications

At least 3 years experience in recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral process.
Requires knowledge of diversity outreach initiatives, strategic networking, and community partnership development.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas in Human Resources and the campus.
Advanced knowledge of employment law.
Experience providing effective customer service and follow-through in a high volume work environment, including listening to customer needs, responding appropriately in a timely manner, resolving complaints, and balancing workload and customer needs.
Must have skills associated with conducting needs assessment, providing input on candidate selection, problem solving, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective training, facilitation and presentation skills for diverse audiences including staff professional development and external outreach.
Experience developing effective outreach and diversity recruitment strategies.
Well-versed in use of online social networking venues such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to support clients' networking activities.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a broad and diverse audience, but especially to managers and candidates.
Effective project management skills to manage a variety of projects and programs.
Assist in recruitment efforts such as job fairs, community outreach, and marketing.
Demonstrated ability using office software and spreadsheets to manage data to accomplish work tasks, measure and evaluate goals.

Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Required Qualifications

Familiarity with Access Database and PeopleSoft systems
Experience in career counseling and/or corporate outplacement preferred
Space Engineering, Scientific and/or Higher Education recruitment experience
Salary & Benefits

This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), Contract position and eligible for full UC benefits.
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $90,000.00 - $105,000.00.
This is a hybrid position, the incumbent will be required to be on-site 2-3 days per week.
