IT Support Specialist
The IT Support Specialist installs, modifies and makes repairs to personnel’s computer hardware and software systems; provides technical advice and support to system users; and is responsible for monitoring and upgrading the computer systems and networks. Their day to day responsibilities will include installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and application issues. Work will be performed in both office and manufacturing environment. Starting wage will be based on education and experience.
Job Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Under supervision by IT Hardware Manager, install, configure, service, repair and maintain information technology systems in both a stand‐alone and client-server environment.
- Monitor and proactively maintain computer systems
- Identify and procure the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements
- Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, phones, and PC’s on users’ premises
- Load appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications
- Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements
- Provide telephone, in-person and online support to end-users
- Coordinate activities with network services and information systems groups
- Help manage Windows Servers including Microsoft Exchange server
- Provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person
- Refer major hardware problems to IT Hardware Manager for correction
- Connect users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Qualifications:
- Associates degree in technical field or equivalent certification with at least 2 years’ related experience, preferably in manufacturing environment; or any education and experience to be considered equivalent.
- Must have ability to install and support PC, laptop, tablet and mobile hardware and software (certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft or HDI are a plus).
- Must have advanced knowledge & experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs, Microsoft Windows operating systems; Prefer experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Exchange.
- Must be able to create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function.
- Must have the ability to work on hardware including, but not limited to printers, label printers, repair, install and replace.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to develop excellent working relationships.

- Requires organizational skills & ability to multitask
- Familiarity with other common office equipment.
- Must be able to work in environment with exposure to Heat, Dust, allergens and loud noise. (Manufacturing Plant)
