This position will play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts, supporting our planned giving initiatives and prospect management and research activities.

Reporting to both the Director of Planned Giving and the Director of Prospect Management & Research, the Development Coordinator will collaborate closely with our dynamic Development Team.

In the area of Planned Giving, the successful applicant will assist in managing the Crescendo Integrated Marketing for Planned Gifts program, create engaging content for a monthly newsletter, and help design and implement marketing strategies and seminars.

Additionally, they will coordinate updates to our Crescendo website and collaborate with our Marketing and Communication team for digital and printed materials.

They will also be responsible for following up on information requests and ensuring appropriate follow-up by our Development Directors.

In Prospect Management & Research, the successful applicant will handle tasks such as running and distributing reports, scheduling and sending portfolio reports, managing data updates in our CRM system, including coding for Prospect Stages and Foundation assets, and creating Prospect records.

They will also assist with various initiatives like quarterly Qualification Lead activities and Activity Report auditing.

The Development Coordinator will co-report to the Director of Planned Giving and the Director of Prospect Management & Research to assist the Development Team in planned giving efforts and prospect management and research.

Planned Giving :

  • Assist the Director of Planned Giving in managing the Crescendo Integrated Marketing for Planned Gifts program.
  • Collaborate on content creation for a monthly newsletter targeting planned giving prospects and donors.
  • Aid in the design, structure, and implementation of marketing strategies and seminars to engage planned giving prospects and enhance their connection to WSU.
  • Coordinate updates to the Crescendo website and collaborate with WSU Marketing and Communication for digital and printed materials.
  • Assist in following up on information requests, determine appropriate information to send, and assign Development Directors for follow-up.

Prospect Management & Research :

  • Run and distribute the Top 250 report prior to monthly meetings.
  • Schedule and send out Portfolio reports for Development Director Portfolio reviews each month.
  • Input updates to Development Directors’ portfolios including assignment and stage changes.
  • Manage data updates in the Development CRM, including Stewardship Manager assignments, Qualification Pool coding, Prospect Stage coding, and adding Foundation assets and giving information to Portfolio reports.
  • Add Foundation assets and giving info to DD portfolio reports
  • Send and save relevant Insightful Philanthropy donor / prospect news alerts and iWave prospect reports
  • Create Prospect records in CRM
  • Assist with quarterly Qualification Lead initiatives

Required Qualifications Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1 year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred :

  • Demonstrated understanding of higher education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of nonprofit fundraising, including familiarity with Estate Planning.
  • Proven experience with database management and software tools.
  • A spirit of collaboration
  • Clear verbal and written communication.
