Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of the position is to coordinate activity and equipment used in the Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) and the Nutrition Biochemistry lab. The lab serves as a hub for classes offered in the Department of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences (ENS). It houses over $500,000 worth of equipment for all aspects of human performance testing. Ability to work with the Moyes College of Education and ENS department faculty, staff, students, and equipment and coordinate the activities in the HPL and the Nutrition biochemistry lab, as well as interface and coordinate with the esports lab present in the HPL. The lab coordinator may have to lead lab sessions and data collection for research projects, depending on their experience.

Required Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Related.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certified prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
  • Course work in Exercise prescription, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Statistics.
  • Experience with exercise and/or clinical testing.
  • Experience with or willing to conduct community testing.
  • Experience with conducting research, data collection, or willing to help with ongoing research projects in the laboratory.
  • ACSM or CSCS certified.
  • Phlebotomy certified or willing to become a certified phlebotomist.
  • Experience with computers and audio/visual equipment.
  • Experience with biochemistry analyzers

Physical Requirements of this position

Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
