We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Subcontracts Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects.

Job Overview

As a Subcontracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our projects by overseeing subcontracting activities. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with Worley quality and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, project teams, procurement teams, legal teams, and subcontractors, to drive effective subcontract management practices. You will be responsible for the end-to-end formation and administration of subcontracts including assembling and executing subcontracts through to close-out. You may also have people management and team leading responsibilities, leading a small team of individuals and having the accountability of the subcontracts team to the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Subcontractor Identification: Identify potential subcontractors based on project requirements, technical expertise, and capacity to deliver services.

Prequalification: Evaluate subcontractors' capabilities, financial stability, safety records, past performance and compliance with Worley's standards and policies.

Negotiation: Lead negotiations with subcontractors on terms, pricing, scope of work, deliverables, and other relevant contractual elements.

Contract Development: Collaborate with legal and project teams to draft and review subcontract agreements, ensuring alignment with project and company requirements.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with subcontractors and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring mechanisms to track subcontractors' performance, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Create, maintain and share reports specific to the project and subcontracts status.

Issue Resolution: Address any issues or disputes that may arise during the execution of subcontracted work, facilitating timely and effective resolution.

Change Management: Manage any changes to subcontract scope, timeline, or budget, ensuring proper documentation and communication to relevant stakeholders.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of all subcontracting activities, including contracts, correspondence, approvals, and other relevant documentation.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, project teams, procurement teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and integration of subcontracted work into the overall project plan.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance subcontract management processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and process improvements.

People Management: Lead and manage a team of subcontracts personnel and be the single point of contact for the project team on the status, progress and completion of subcontracts for the assigned project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in subcontract management and execution of a range of subcontracts within the energy, chemicals, or resources industries as well as a broad range of contract types/structures.
  • Strong understanding of contracting principles, legal regulations, and commercial terms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
