To obtain a Class A license, a person must meet age and education requirements. The minimum age is 21, although some states allow 18-year-olds to obtain a commercial driver‘s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required, and driving requirements include already having a noncommercial driver‘s license and a good driving record. After meeting these requirements, a person can enroll in a Class A training course and become a commercially licensed truck driver upon passing the exam.
