Associate attorneys are recent law school graduates who are employed by law firms to develop their skills and gain experience. They are supervised by experienced attorneys or partners and are responsible for conducting legal research, writing reports and briefs, negotiating with other law firms, participating in jury selection, and assisting with court arguments.
