Archaeologists working in cultural resource management, government agencies, or museums are responsible for managing, protecting, and interpreting archaeological sites and artifacts. In cultural resource management, they direct field and lab work, manage staff, and engage in public education and outreach efforts. In government agencies, they oversee research, collections, and exhibition programs, while also writing grants and publishing their work. In museums, they work as curators, preserving and displaying artifacts and managing administrative affairs. They may also authenticate, classify, and maintain the museum‘s collection.
