The 31st District Court was established in 1979. Prior to 1979, the Court was a municipal court. While the Court has always been housed in the Hamtramck City Hall building, it was previously located on the second floor. In 2003, the third floor of the City Hall building was renovated, and the Court moved into it's current location, the Hon. Walter A. Paruk Court Facility.
