He has worked for over 30 years in the landscape industry and holds licenses in Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Hawaii. He is a member of the International Ecological Engineering Society, American Society of Landscape Architects, American Institute of Certified Planners, and the American Landscape and Nurseryman Association. In 2002, Alan was awarded patent #6,360,480 B1 for a method of planting trees to target contaminants in phytoremediation.
