It was just about the perfect job for mein addition to drafting speeches and presentations for our top executives, I also was able to create and manage a corporate speakers bureau, lead campaigns on subjects ranging I knew someday I wanted to venture out on my own, however, and when the economy took a turn for the worse in 2008, Caterpillar offered a voluntary separation plan to employees. The financial package was appealingso I took the plunge and formed Brown Ink. A little more about me: Before Caterpillar, I spent eight years at a small communications firm it. Our clients ranged from local nonprofits to Fortune 50 companies. Because of our small staff, I spent a lot of time on the research, strategy and communications planning side of projects as well. I lost count at about the 250th interview I conductedbut gained some great experience in market research, communications strategy and report writing.
