Pastor Doug and his wife, Karen, were called to found Church on Fire Ministries after almost 20 years of working in youth ministry. In August of 1996 they moved from their position in Georgia to Harrison, Ohio to start the church. For several months they met in a home with between nine and fifteen people and prayed for the church that was to come. In October of that year, the first service was held. Twenty-seven people came and CFM was officially established. The church began to grow as people were born again and lives were changed. The CFM congregation has grown so quickly over the years that often a larger building was needed. The church is now in its tenth year and is in its fifteenth building. In 2004 a 40,000 square foot grocery store was purchased and was turned into the existing church facility. In the beginning, our vision for the church was established, and has not changed. The vision of: Winning the Lost, Discipling Believers, and Freedom of Worship is and will always be the passion. Lives are being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
