The story behind the two location, successful jewelry business venture of Dean's Jewelry, a family owned and operated Jewelry Source of Ohio, reads as a story seemingly taken from the pages of an American fairy tale. Now entering into a third generation of the Turner Family Jewelers, the pride of Dean's Jewelry continues to beam in brillant ellegance. The light of realized dreams shines in exquisite quality jewelry, personal client care and an unyielding dedication to high-quality craftsmanship. With a move that would forever change the course of the Turner Family future, Dean Turner accepted a position of General Manager at a jewelry store in Cuyahoga Falls in 1956. With an unexplanable adoration for jewelry and superior service, Dean worked diligantly to open a jewelry store all his own. Ten years after the move, Dean's Jewelry opened its doors for the first time. As you see above, today the determination and dedication of Dean Turner has been passed down in an incredible story of family tradition, valor and valiance. Tim Turner (featured above), Dean's Son, entered into the family jewelry business in 1968, having studied stone-setting and gold-smithing at Gem City College. With a strong work ethic, and high-standard business practices and a devotion to personal customer attention, a tenacious Tim would inherit the jewelry business helm when Dean retired in 1991. Of course, the tale of this impressive family doesn't stop there. Tim's Daughters, Michelle, who is a Graphic Arts and Design Graduate from the Institute of Pittsburgh, as well as Kristy, a GIA Gemologist, both continue to be an integral part of the family business. Michelle, in fact (please see above!) is part-owner of Dean's Jewelry, following her degree completion from The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in both diamonds and diamond grading. Noah is a GIA Diamond graduate, in addition to being Tim's son. Preparing the new Generation of Tuner family Jewelry Business Tradition, Tim has also made Noah (again, please see above) part-owner of ...

What Skills Does a person Need at Deans Jewelry?

At Deans Jewelry, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Technical Support: Offering hands-on assistance and solutions to end-users in addressing and troubleshooting technical issues.
  2. Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or processes on a machine or a system. It is a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem in order to solve it, and make the product or process operational again. Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms. Determining the most likely cause is a process of elimination—eliminating potential causes of a problem. Finally, troubleshooting requires confirmation that the solution restores the product or process to its working state. In general, troubleshooting is the identification or diagnosis of "trouble" in the management flow of a system caused by a failure of some kind. The problem is initially described as symptoms of malfunction, and troubleshooting is the process of determining and remedying the causes of these symptoms. A system can be described in terms of its expected, desired or intended behavior (usually, for artificial systems, its purpose). Events or inputs to the system are expected to generate specific results or outputs. (For example, selecting the "print" option from various computer applications is intended to result in a hardcopy emerging from some specific device). Any unexpected or undesirable behavior is a symptom. Troubleshooting is the process of isolating the specific cause or causes of the symptom. Frequently the symptom is a failure of the product or process to produce any results. (Nothing was printed, for example). Corrective action can then be taken to prevent further failures of a similar kind.
  3. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement. One good customer service experience can change the entire perception a customer holds towards the organization.
  4. Problem Solving: Analyzing and identifying the root cause of problems and applying critical thinking skills to solve problems.
  5. Analysis: Analysis is the process of considering something carefully or using statistical methods in order to understand it or explain it.
