Goal4.org is a U.S. non-profit organization with operations in Kenya. Our mission is to reduce infant and child mortality. Our name comes from the fourth United Nations Millennium Development Goal, to reduce under-five mortality by two thirds by the year 2015. While our work centers on children, our model can be applied to addressing other issues. We hope to see our model replicated in other communities. History // Goal4.org is the result of three personal paths merging - Dan & Lauri Burrier, Arthur Karuletwa, and Piper Gianola. Lauri and Dan brought us together with an idea. Our mutual passions took goal4.org from idea to action. Dan and Lauri have been activists for social justice and development for many years. Arthur has dedicated his adult life to the social and economic development of East Africa, and of his mother country, Rwanda. Goal4.org's model was shaped Piper's experiences in Africa. In 1988 she and a friend drove across the continent visiting 14 countries. In 1992 she returned for six months to work with refugees in rural Senegal, and since then, personal visits have brought her back to different parts of the continent. Across countries and time she found a common thread - a resilience of spirit that survived in the face of daunting odds. Everywhere, she encountered bright, dedicated people who got up each morning to carry out their work against challenges that would make most westerners turn and run - teachers, nurses, parents, doing the best they could without the most basic support, or supplies. Goal4.org's approach was designed to support and empower those dedicated people in carrying out what it is they already strive to do - affect the changes their families and communities need. Sega, Kenya // Goal4.org is working in the sub-location of Sega, a cluster of 18 villages with a population of roughly 10,000 inhabitants. Rural western Kenya is a region which suffers the highest child mortality rates in the country. Piper Gianola, founder, executive director, and board member // Piper, an ...

Product management also involves elimination decisions. Product elimination begins with the identification of elimination candidates, proceeds with the consideration of remedial actions, continues with a projection of the impact on the business as a whole if a candidate product is eventually eliminated, and concludes with the implementation stage, where management determines the elimination strategy for an item. The product manager is often responsible for analyzing market conditions and defining features or functions of a product and for overseeing the production of the product. The role of product management spans many activities from strategic to tactical and varies based on the organizational structure of the company.
